Re: Cubase 14 released [30% off sale April 2025]
I really like Cubase 14 - and yes, the projects do appear to open/close faster. I've read that that's down to Cubase 14 having VST2 switched off by default so only using VST3. Feels a lot slicker anyway.

Re: Oldies but REAL goodies

Re: Berlin Studio?
I use Berlin as my go-to hall for dry instruments - works really nicely so I've been very happy with it. Worth demoing at least. Interesting to see Spitfire release AIR Essentials at 99e .. seems to do a similar job to Berlin but using Air. Might be interesting. Ambiente looks like an updated VSS2 ...

Re: Cubase 14 released
I’m still waiting for an export video feature that doesn’t make insanely large files. Me too! According to Dom Sigilas they've upgrade the video engine so maybe there's some ongoing focus in that area. Now it seems the only video "improvement" is the ability to host 4k and 8k video in Cubase. Po ...

Re: Backup
I have an all singing and dancing studio machine and a workstation laptop which I keep up to date for travel and as a quick swap out in the studio in case of trouble. 1. Studio machine - 4 NVme drives backup to 4 SSDs in a BlackMagic 10G dock attached to the laptop at various times through the week ...

Re: Spitfire Symphony Orchestra - $499
Hopefully loading times of Kontakt 7 won't go through the roof. I still mostly use Kontakt 6. Sample handling is fine with K7, it's just the initial startup of the first plugin it seems for some users. On my Macbook it's fine, but not W11. I had several libraries that took ages to load on K7 and ...

Re: Cubase 13 [RELEASED]
As I am already living my daily live in 50 shades of grey due to being colourblind for the colour red, I certainly don't need any more grey in my life haha But that isn't highlighting, that's underlighting.... I thought we left those flat coloured layouts behind us when we moved on from the 90's ...

Re: Cubase 13 [RELEASED]
I did go for it in the end - there was a video full of little changes that looked useful. At the moment I have buyer's remorse. I find a problem with almost every new feature because its not implemented consistently, or it is essentially redundant because the feature already existed in a slightly ...

Re: Cakewalk Sonar returns
Interesting. I was on Sonar until moving to Cubase around 10 years ago because I was concerned they were chasing the EDM market too heavily and neglecting stuff useful for media composers. There are still parts of it I miss but I doubt I'd be tempted back, however, I'll keep an eye on it so thanks ...
